Why CorporateRegister.com?
CorporateRegister.com has been developed as an information tool for stakeholders in the field of
environmental & social reporting. This area is growing rapidly, and it is difficult to keep abreast of the many hundreds
of published reports.
By providing this free service it is hoped to encourage further growth across new sectors
and countries:
- Stakeholder interest will grow as reports become more easily identified and obtained.
- Best practice will progress as more reports are read and compared.
- Companies considering producing their own publications can obtain different reports for comparison, and
identify potential external partners (consultants, designers, printers, independent auditors).
What you now see on this site is at a stage of early development. Over the coming months we will be adding a
number of services to make the site even more useful. We will also provide links to significant organisations
in the reporting field.
We hope that the number of featured reports will increase rapidly as reporting companies
send us their reports. If your company has produced a report we have not featured, we would be delighted to add
it to the Register - there's no charge, see Sending us reports.
The site has been developed to help site visitors find report details as quickly and efficiently as possible. We
hope you enjoy using the service and would be interested in receiving your feedback.
A Few Notes
- We have had to take a view on what constitutes a 'report', as we have received many brochures and other
publications.
In the absence of widely accepted definitions, we tend not to feature publications which are
sales brochures, have no reference year, no hard data and no statement of policy, regardless of whether the
issuing company terms them a 'report'.
- Some of our featured report profiles include sections from annual reports. To be
included, such sections need to comprise at least 6 pages.
- We do not feature EMAS reports, unless these are also
environmental reports. For example, a large company may have many separate
site EMAS reports and we would not feature these. If, however, a small
company with a single site issues an EMAS report which is equivalent to an
environmental report, or a large company issues an environmental report
consolidating many separate EMAS reports, then these would be included on
this site.
